"Anatomy of Islands – Centre for Research and Development" is an association established with the aim of creating interdisciplinary knowledge about islands, island communities, and models of island development, transmitting that knowledge through various forms of education, and applying it by implementing development projects on islands. More about the association
"Anatomy of Islands 2012-2016" consists of symposiums and workshops focusing on themes involving island development. Experts from various disciplines are invited to participate (architecture, urban planning and development, geography, economy, archeology, ethnology and cultural anthropology, sociology, agriculture), as well as local government officials, NGO representatives, and individuals involved in island community projects. Each symposium is followed by a student workshop, which aims to put into practice ideas within the given theme. The programme is held annually, in September, on the island of Vis, Croatia.
It is our pleasure to announce and invite you to participate in the fourth consecutive "Anatomy of Islands" Symposium. This year we intend to discuss responsible tourism on the islands: a synergy of tourism and year-round life on the island.read more
